Fyxes is a Melbourne-based home cleaning marketplace. It connects homeowners with independent, insured cleaners for instant bookings at fixed, transparent prices. There's no bidding, no quotes, and no phone tag — you select what needs cleaning, see the price, and book.
During our pilot, Fyxes services 16 suburbs across Melbourne's inner north: Carlton, Northcote, Thornbury, Ivanhoe, Alphington, Collingwood, Clifton Hill, Fitzroy, Brunswick, North Melbourne, Coburg, Preston, Bellfield, Heidelberg, Eaglemont, and Fairfield. We plan to expand to more Melbourne suburbs after the pilot.
Prices are fixed and based on the rooms you book: bedroom $25, bathroom $40, kitchen $40, living room $30, laundry $25, study $25. Add-ons (per unit): oven clean — light $50 or heavy duty $100 per oven; fridge clean $60 per fridge; inside windows $30 per window; balcony — small $40, medium $60, large $100 per balcony. Minimum booking is $140. A condition multiplier (tidy, overdue, deep clean) or end-of-lease surcharge may apply, and same-day or next-day bookings include a 20% surge. All prices are in AUD.
Every cleaner on the Fyxes platform holds a valid Australian Business Number (ABN), public liability insurance of at least $5,000,000, and has passed a National Police Check. Cleaners are independent contractors, not Fyxes employees — they run their own businesses and set their own availability.
Fyxes is instant-book. Same-day and next-day bookings are available subject to cleaner availability (a 20% surcharge applies). You send a request, a nearby cleaner accepts, and you're confirmed — no waiting for quotes.
Cancel more than 48 hours before your booking for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of the booking receive a 50% refund (the remaining 50% is a cancellation fee to compensate the cleaner's reserved time). If the cleaner fails to show up, you can choose a full refund or a re-clean at no additional cost.
Report the issue through the Fyxes app or email hello@fyxes.com.au within 48 hours of the booking end time. Fyxes will review the booking, the cleaner's response, and any photos, and work with both parties on a fair resolution — usually a re-clean, partial refund, or full refund. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
Cleaners receive their payment weekly via Stripe. Fyxes charges a 20% service fee on each completed booking (inclusive of GST). Tips given through the app are passed to the cleaner in full with no service fee.
No — Fyxes cleaners bring their own cleaning supplies and equipment as part of the booking, unless you and the cleaner agree otherwise in advance.
Yes. Weekly bookings get a 15% discount, fortnightly get 10%, and monthly get 5%. Recurring bookings can be paused or cancelled at any time through the app. Payment for each recurring booking is charged approximately 4 days before the scheduled date.
No. Fyxes is a technology platform that connects customers with independent cleaners. When you book, you're entering into a contract directly with the cleaner. Fyxes facilitates the booking and handles payment on the cleaner's behalf — but does not employ cleaners or control how the cleaning is performed.

Fyxes was founded in 2026 by Michelle Hardi, a Melbourne-based product designer who experienced first-hand how broken the home services booking experience is in Australia.
Cleaners are independent contractors and are required to carry their own public liability insurance (minimum $5,000,000). If damage or loss occurs, report it through the Fyxes app or email within 48 hours with photos and detail. Fyxes will help connect you with the cleaner and their insurer to work through the claim.
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe. Fyxes never sees or stores your full card number — card details are tokenised and held securely by Stripe. All transactions are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
